Release notes for Aerion Early Access — the pre-release track of Aerion, accessible at *.aerion.dev. These builds ship ahead of the stable release, so features below may still change or be removed before they reach general availability.
v1.98.16 — 2026-07-31
- Added a "Latest changes" indicator in the navigation that flags new releases and links to the full changelog. You likely arrived here from that link!
- Redesigned the search bar on the Project Board, Team Board and Planner
- Added budget and profitability figures to Planner project panels and the planning modal
- Reworked completing and archiving projects and clients: the modal now shows the impact on sub-projects and future planning assignments
- Removing a staff member from a project now explains what happens to their future planning assignments — past assignments stay, upcoming ones are removed, and tracked time is untouched
- Updated display and behavior of removed users and archived/completed projects in the Planner
- Added a toggle to the single-project Planner to show assignment details rather than the capacity display
- Improved behavior of the escape key when multiple dialog modals are open
- Searching for tags on the Project, Planner, Approval and Team boards now respects any active filters and triggers a revised "hidden by filters" display
- Increased flexibility of the "Group By" dropdown when exporting or invoicing time entries. Previously this required at least two "groups" in order to group by a specific category.
- Staff members can no longer attempt to submit work time for dates before their employment start
- Client and project codes now auto-generate from the name, as they did in previous versions of Aerion
- When tabbing between dropdowns, especially in the time entry form, typing in a dropdown now filters the options straight away, as it did in previous versions of Aerion

- Added the Team Lead designation. This grants no additional privileges, but clarifies internal structure and can be seen on the Team Board and in exports.
- Minor adjustments to the layout of the Project Invoicing tab; renamed "Scheduled Invoices" to "Planned Invoices" in English.
- Improved completing super projects, with clearer guidance when a super project's sub-project(s) can't be deleted.

- Added row-visibility controls to the Planner for choosing which project and staff rows are shown, by viewport, scope, or all
- Added an unsaved-changes guard prompt when leaving the Find Users mode of the planner without saving

- Adjusted the find users list to re-sort by available capacity when the scope changes

- Added success notifications when updating or creating items in places where they were not formerly present
- Add time entry and break buttons now sit in each day's column in the tracking view, instead of a split between the small buttons in the header and footer, which also resolves an issue where the break button was missing if an account was not using work time tracking
- Fixes an issue where new employment entries could not be created with the "Former" status.
- The edit time entry modal now focuses the first field on open and supports tab-key navigation between fields
- Graphical updates to the focus outline on form fields, buttons, and dropdowns to make the above change more obvious
- Clearer labels on approval view bulk actions

- Fixes an issue where the absence request count was not showing in the nav (for accounts without a native HR integration)
